Hi folks, my son has a 2 day assessment soon at Ryegate Childrens Hospital in Sheffield. We are not from Sheffield so I'm looking for somewhere to stay on the night as it's over a two hour journey. Can anyone advise of nearby hotels/travelodge or similar that are close by.

Thanks

I'm fairly new to Sheffield so don't know anywhere to recommend myself but maybe you could post on the Local:Sheffield bit of the MN site?

Hope the assessment goes well - I've heard good things about Ryegate from DS's teachers & school mums.

I live in Sheffield and go to rygate a lot!...The areas surrounding are Broomhill or Crosspool...I googled and Westborne House Hotel is near by but to be honest it does not take long from the city centre to get there by car or bus so any brand hotel in the city will suit your needs....takes us 10-15 min by bus from the centre.
The Botanical Gardens is close by too and worth a wander. :)

I've heard good things about Ryegate. I live next door in Rotherham and our services are a joke! Plenty of hotels in the centre of Sheffield, many big names so fingers crossed you should get a good price.

Hope you find somewhere Feynman - I think you messaged me a while ago about consultants in this area. Hope your assessment goes well. There are plenty travellodge style places in Sheffield so you should find plenty to choose from.

Thank-you all. Am sorted now I think. Yes Fatzak, I did speak to you a while back. I'm hoping things go well. I will be lovely to see a group of people who will see 'my son' rather than different people seeing 'whatever problem they specialise in' and not really having any regard for the other issues. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks
