Went on holiday Sat before Easter for a week - ended up coming home early on the Tuesday because DH had a bad dose of chickenpox!!! I've been checking ds every day as he hasn't had cp - nothing until this morning, the day before he goes back to school!!! Arghhhh...............

Oh no, cwtch. I hope your DS doesn't get it badly. Another week off school whatever happens. Your poor DH, though. Was he really poorly? Adults usually get it really severely. Sad

Get up to Boots and ask for aqueous cream with calamine - great for the spots. Bicarb for the bath, piriton and eurax cream for the itching!
All four of mine came down with it in a three week period. Littlest DS ended up in hospital as he got an infection and was on anti virals and a drip. He was only 15weeks!

DH was really bad - never seen him that ill, he had antivirals and then antibiotics as some of the spots were becoming infected.
We are well stocked up with bicarb / cream etc.
Ds is 4, asd / ld and goes to special school where some of the kids are in poor health, we live just down the road so I can ask the school nurse to pop in and give him the all clear when I think the infection risk is gone - I will happily keep ds off to ensure the other kids don't catch it from him.

And people say that it's JUST chickenpox...!

dd3 had chicken pox a couple of weeks before easter, the nurse at her ss was great with her advice so definitely worth a call tomorrow, she also had a few parents she had to inform that it was in school as well so she was pleased I'd rung on the first day of the spots. Hope ds is ok.
