  • Twiddling my hair, twirling it round and round, running it through his lips, rubbing it against his cheek.
  • This then moved on when he tucked my hair behind my ear and discovered my ear. He then spent another good long while looking at it very closely, running his fingertip along all the groves of it. Tucking/brushing every hair from it. Zoning in and out on my ear with one open eyeball. Moving closer and then further away, then back again.
  • He then moved on to a mug and proceeded to run his TEETH along the edges of it. The rim, the handle, the base (luckily the mug was empty) over and over again, then putting his full fist in and out of the mug repeatedly.

Hmm Grin

I don't usually allow such a block of quirkiness in one go but I'm shattered and glued to the coach in some sort of zombie coma. Hmm

Sounds like DS2's dream afternoon. He's just spent 10 minutes slouched on the sofa, picking hula hoops off my fingers and eating them. He's now squeezing his Piedro boots so they creak and rubbing them against his head (yes he is still wearing them after a long walk).

DS1 wouldn't get half a minute out of it before pulling my hair, shoving it in his mouth, jumping on top of me and having to have the mug confiscated before he broke something with it or got it jammed somewhere.

I knew someone on here would 'get it' Grin

It was HIS mug so I knew he'd be careful with it. My mugs have to be closely guarded against spills or breakages. Hmm

DS2 can be so tender, gentle and even communicative in his quiet, stimmy moments. He likes to share his enjoyment and i think they really are restorative for him.

The ones which are less enjoyable are the ones like after the last day of term, which was all very different to a normal school day. He shouted, patted and screeched at the top of his voice all the way home and all the way until well past bedtime. He was just so wired and didn't want to be close at all.

DS2 got in bed with me yesterday morning, a bit too early, Wink and spent an hour twiddling my hair, flicking it across his cheek, tying it in knots. It's been his main stim since he was 10 months old, he's now 12 years old. I can't help it, but I like the fact that it involves me, otherwise I'd have very little interaction from him at his instigation. (And he doesn't like exH's hair Grin )
