Well we are now either at the end or the beginning at the moment I dont know where I am.

My lovely boy has received his dx's
DS has Aspergers, ADHD, Upper body motor and vocal tics (Tourettes), Sensory Processing Disorder and Social Communication Disorder. What a platefull. He also has issues with writing and reading that they are concerned about.

They have measured his head, height and weight and he has to have a blood test down here to be transported to Maudsley for testing to see if there are any underlying causes, genetic wise, medical wise or illness wise that could be an underlying cause for this basketfull.

They have said that because he is young, with the right help and thorough support and understanding he could well avoid the necessity of meds but they will review as things go.

Thinking of you Coff. You have been very good to me too - hope you get through the next little bit.

Penneyanne · 12/04/2012 20:37

Coff, have cried reading your posts today. It just goes to show that time and time and time again us Mums are always right with our gut instincts. We know our special kids better than anyone. I have lost count of the times I have been told I was 'over-anxious'! Over-anxious my bloody foot! You should feel so pleased with yourself for winning such a long drawnout battle -what a nightmare you have been through! Take it easy on yourself and big hugs to all the coffpots and especially to your lovely ds who sounds wonderful. It will be ok you know!Smile

Mama Rambo! Grin that has made me laugh! Just looked at DS huge pile of plastic guns next to me. Just the boot polish to get Grin

I doubt I will get any sort of apology boc but I will say that. If I do then you will read it in the global newspapers! First page news title "Nescafe woman spills the granules!"

You're right about this board Coff. I was just think yesterday how amazing and strong the posters were.

There are approaches and therapy and strategies and legal arguments I have reasons not to try in full, but to learn about them and pick bits from and understand their value and use to reconsider and challenge my own pathway is immensely valuable.

The gentle but respectful challenge from people who understand WHY you are asking something is also an amazing feature of the board.

Ben10NeverAgain · 12/04/2012 21:36

I posted first around the same time as you coff. I've just looked back at my first post. The gentle encouragement of the posters to not just sit back and accept the cdc's report that there was nothing. Noone said what it might be. I had no idea myself that we were walking down the road towards Asd. But those posters who may still be here under nc have given my son the answer to why he is who he is and I will be eternally grateful.

Hope you are feeling a bit better now.
After so long being picked to bits and all the negative attitudes and accusations it would be strange if you didn't have a meltdown!
Your fight has been long and hard but very worthwhile and out of love.
Smile at the thought of your Ds finding his feet on wheels I bet you really enjoyed seeing him have a good time.
Look after yourself too.

Yes I am feeling a bit more level headed today thanks flow :)

I am also getting ready for a mumsnet meet! Meeting up with Chuckyegg and her DS just deciding weather wise where to go! Really looking forward to it :)

Have fun, coff33!

StarlightMcEggsie · 13/04/2012 15:32

Blimey, - that's confused me. I thought Chucky lived next door to me, and that coff lived nowhere near!!!!

Have fun. Chucky was kind to me when I just moved into area and gave me some pointers!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/04/2012 17:54

Chucky is on holiday down t' south. Smile

coff33pot · 13/04/2012 18:45

Just got back. Yes Chucky is on hols down my way. :)

It was lovely to meet with them the weather held out and we had a great time on the beach although us mums seemed to be doing all the digging work! Little Chucky I can only describe as the most deliciously handsome boy who gives the best cuddles I have had in ages :)

It was a lovely break and just what the doctor ordered!
