Has anyone been through this with their dd please ?
My dd has current gdd , significant sensory issues , very challenging behavior , lack of concentration and very lively .
Also skin problems, food issues , loose bowels , the list goes on :)
I know girls present differently to boys with autism just wanted to hear from others who have been through it please x

Yes - it is a fun assessment built aqround little games.

DD had it shortly before her 4th birthday. took about 40 mins. very play based. there are different modules (depending on speech & language I think), we had module 1 as DD has only little speech. paed watched her play, then the paed tried to "play" with her, paed also tried to get DD to copy her. they looked at things such as pretend play & symbolic play (there was a doll which Dd refused to feed Hmm, biryhday cake with fake candles, guess DD was supposed to pretend to have a birthday party), they played with bubbles etc (think to see if/how DD would request more). they also picked up on a couple of sensory issues...
it was basically a play session for DD.

Thank you both . Dd's CP is doing it with another one . Did either of you jot down things to mention ? Even though have seen dd's cp few times always forget to mention her possible stimming x

I think the child only 'scores' for behaviours etc that are displayed during the ados (and not for things mum observes at home).
following the ados the paed also did the ADI-R questionnaire with us. iirc it covered things like stimming (and other spectrummy behavious) as well as DD developmental history.

Thanks chocjunkie I did wonder that . Could have asked cp at review meeting a week before the assessment but did not want to take over
. Ok not long until the 30th :)
