Making amendments

I am proposing amendments to the statement after the AR

Should they be bold type, italic or what?

I've always done it a different colour, one colour for adding in, one for taking out.

There is a protocol for working documents - I can't lay my hands on it but it uses bold, italics and underlining - I think.

the lea put their changes in bold, so if we'd done the same it would have been rather confusing.

Found it - it is:

Bold type for parental amendments
Bold strikethrough for parental deletions

Italic type for LA amendments
Italic Strike through for LA deletions

Underlined for agreed wording

I'm sorry I don't have it to hand but can look later tonight.

The reason you don't do it in colour is so that a tribunal can see the progress as they don't photocopy in colour.

we do it using strike through and track changes.

we once got a document back where we had crossed out and corrected dd1's name, only for it to be re-crossed out and un-corrected

still, at least we knew who to address that particular complain to, thanks to track changes

looks like that's something else my lea don't follow protocol on then!

It's just protocol Ninja, you can do it whichever way you want really.

Some LAs (mine) use the parents style occasionally to 'trick' the parents and confuse the issue

sounds about right star, I did ask but was told to just do whatever I'm hoping it's going to be a while before we're looking at amending again, but I'll keep that in mind AE thanks.

To be fair Ninja it is just as likely to have been incompetence in my LA's case as deliberate.
