Isn't it just end of term wind down?

sounds like there are big trust issues anyway, and presumably a back story. But even in mainstream you will be surprised how often a film gets shown, particularly towards the end of term, so it wouldn't ring alarm bells on its own.

Why don't you ask the teacher? COuld be end of term wind down, maybe they had a staff shortage or it might have been any of a hundred different reasons. At ds's schools they might watch films at lunchtime if the weather is bad; sometimes it will tie in with their work - for instance I know there was a school trip to see Gnomeo and Juliet when it came out - it tied in with their topic about Shakespeare and was far more accesible for the kids than the original play would be.
