DS3 aged 5 with ASD, deaf and no speech is going in tomorrow to have a General Anaesthetic to have refraction eye drops put in. Not looking forward to keeping him away from food and drink for the best part of the day....
It may seem extreme doing it this way, but as he is longsighted with a divergent squint and astigmatism, he really can't cope with the stingy drops, his pupils dilating to the point that he can't focus and then some bugger shining a light in his eyes! Less stressful for all of us really. Just need to get passed the cannula bit part first...... Yikes!
