waiting for statement for 3 years!!!! poor lad!

26 weeks? 3 years. what? how very strange.

I take any of those press stories with a MASSIVE pinch of salt, as, from my experience, they tend to be very inaccurate one sided and the school is unable to tell you what they know to be fact. If the authority weren't completing the process in the statutory time, then it would have been unearthed some time ago. Someone saying "he needs a Statement" to parents 3 years ago, doesn't mean that Statutory Assessment was applied for 3 years ago.
With the difficulties listed, you would think he might have had a Satement by now, but we just do not have all the facts to know why that hasn't happened.
