Hello all Smile

Hope you have all had a good week?

Ds1 is doing well Smile Sorry to turn each post into a boast-fest Blush but he got more team points this week and was put on a higher book level again Smile He is also doing really well in maths.

Its hard to remember how bad things were this time last year wrt his school work and him struggling so much!

Still got a long way to go but am feeling hopeful Smile

Ds2 is being a monkey...we have a settling in visit at pre school on monday am feeling very very anxious about it, it all went so horribly wrong with ds1 from pre school onwards...just want to get it right this time, you know?

Hi all, have just come back from a meal out!!

Its my birthday todaySmile.

Had another tough week at work and Dd3 has had a few problems with another girl at school, I have already spoken to the SENCO about her but I think another phone call might be needed.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.Smile

Happy birthday Ineed! Grin

Imogen, I really hope the school start to sit up and take notice now. Its an odd feeing when you get the dx you need. Its not like you want your dc to have the dx, but you know there's no other option if you are going to access the support they need.

Be kind to yourself and allow yourself some time to breathe and process it all. ((hugs))

Triggles · 23/03/2012 22:29

It's okay Moosemama - this is obviously like a TARDIS wardrobe. Grin

Justabout - I am reading your green pastures blog. You are amazing. Truly. Smile

SallyBear · 24/03/2012 07:14

Justabout. Where in NZ are you? My friend Lizzie helps run North Shore Riding for the Disabled. They live near Auckland and are from Bedford. If you would like some info I can send you a link. She says that the horses and the riding make a massive difference to people with Additional Needs.

signandsmile · 24/03/2012 07:39

Just catching up.... last nite was a crap TV and dozing dribbling on the sofa eve. Into and Needa happy birthday back atcha!

Hi to everyone else.. are you all still in the wardrobe? I can slip you (very flat) food under the door, (like Piggling Bland giving Suck-Suck peppermints.... oops, anyone else have a beatrix potter childhood? Blush)

I haven't needed to be scary mummy on ds's behalf for a while, so I will let out my fierce side and patrol outside the wardrobe, so that only useful lovely supportive professionals are allowed to approach...

Halt! Who goes there??? State your SMART objectives! Grin

Becaroooo · 24/03/2012 07:47

imogen Its not unusual to feel "flat" after dx..I am sure the other lovely ladies on here would say the same?

I have known ds1 was dyslexic since he was 6...but seeing it in black and white and the measuring of the severity of his problems was upsetting and, like you, I felt very odd for a while.

Are you going to the meeting? Do you have anyone to go with you?

x

My friend Lizzie lives in Browns Bay and loves it. They've been there with their 8 cats (!) for three years, and definitely have a kiwi lilt! You would like her a lot I think.

SallyBear · 24/03/2012 08:06

Seriously?! Then I will have to get you to meet her at some point. She is brilliant, and lots of fun. Smile
