Music Therapy Questionnaire

Hello,

I am a music degree student and am undertaking a Music Therapy project as this is an area I am very much interested in! I hope to complete a Masters in it and one day open my own private practice.

I have recently heard of this site and wondered if any of you could possibly fill in my questionnaire? It would really help me grasp the awareness of Music Therapy and the demand for it.

I realise that this isn't a site for favours/advertising but it would reeeallly help me! I have pasted the questionnaire below, if you could fill it in the best you can and paste it into your comment.

Music Therapy is often used when a person?s communication skills are limited or have difficulty engaging in a verbal therapy. It uses spontaneous music making as a means of communication and aims to help a person progress within a therapeutic relationship using musical instruments, voices and listening.

2. Do you know who could benefit from it? (i.e. children/adults with disabilities, depression etc) Y/N

4.1 If so, where? DS special school offers music therapy throught out the school. The teacher wond Special Needs teacher of the year at this year's awards

1. Do you know anyone else that has/does attend regular sessions? I know that it is used quite commonly in care homes for older people, especially with dementia

7.1 Why/Why not? I think it is more suited to the music therapist travelling to where they are wanted, not the other way around
