She did FAB!!!

Well today dd1 went to mainstream kindy for the first time - just the morning - her full days start next week. She had a ball.... there was so much to do and see and play with. She told me she had fun.

The kindy provide an aide to work with her.... their funding does not come through for a while and so the parent committee funds the aide to start from day one and then is reimbursed when the funding arrives. That was great to see.

The teacher and the aides said she did really well. No problems.

She brought home three paintings to show dh.

She even big step here - asked her aide to change her nappy as she had done a poo. Normally she would not care - unlike her sister who cannot stand it. But dd1 told the aide when she had done a poo and asked for her nappy to be changed. A breakthrough - she does so want to use the toilet etc but never seemed to know when she needed to go or that she had gone!!!

So - dd1 did fab - I cried. Burst into tears when a friend ( whose son with sn attends the other room at the kindy) asked me how dd1 was...... But she had been in my shoes last year.

So dd1 did fab!! her mum did not so fab!!!! Still feel a little teary that my baby is in mainstream and growing up!!! to think that little ditty thing born 3 1/2 years ago and went through that heart surgery and the rocky recovery is now a big kindy girl.

Okay enough from me....have posted a pic of her....

Brilliant!

Get used to the tearfulness though. I still shed a tear at 'proud mum moments' and mine are all teenagers!

Just saw this - saw the pic first. Well done to both of you! You must be so proud of her. Great that she seems to like it and feel comfortable. And excellent to hear the kindy are so helpful. Onwards and upwards from here!

Great new Eidsvold, she seems to be doing really well. These milestones are all the more bitter/sweet for our kids aren't they? The nappy/poo news sounds good.... here's hoping!
