Hi i have bought vegepa for my dd2.5, the only problem is it tastes and smells horrible. ive tried cutting open the capsule and putting it on food, in with a shot of ribena and in a fruit smoothie but the taste is still very strong and horrible so dd wont eat/drink whatever i put it in (she is not usually very fussy).
any suggestions please as this is the 3rd thing im trying for omega3 and really dont want to change again. Thanks

I use Barleans ultra EPA quite potent but it has worked miracles for my DD they are big jumbo capsules which are lemony I put it in her juice with her other vitamin supplements a vitamin cocktail if you will she calls it her brain juice and loves it!

Hi thanks all
I do give her the fruit smoothie in a cup with a straw, think i will try the floradix with it aswell though as just the fruit didnt seem to mask the taste very well as was a bit afraid of putting her off the smoothie as its a good way to get lots of fruit into them (i tasted it aswell and tbh wouldnt have been able to drink it myself)
Im not giving her any other vitamins atm so the floradix will be good for those additional vits.
Just out of curiosity what fruit/juice combinations do you use in the smoothie pls? I use apple juice, wholegrain strawberry yoghurt and then add what fruit i have (usually grapes&blueberries or similar)

Hello, I'm from Igennus - the manufacturer of Vegepa and just thought I'd jump in with some info that might be of use... the ultra-pure EPA in Vegepa is very concentrated, and this means it is very fishy indeed (not very palatable if you split the capsule!) For this reason we have developed Vegepa Orange Chewables, which are completely sugar-free and naturally sweetened with xylitol - also no salicylates that some children are sensitive to. We recently reformulated this product, so it's now more of a paste-like texture inside, and we've had great feedback in terms of taste and consistency. You might have better luck splitting this capsule and putting into smoothies etc. We offer free samples if you'd like to try this - please email [email protected] for more information. Best of luck finding a solution for your daughter. Kind regards, Mina.

wow thanks mn2003 that sounds good
i was just about to repost to say thanks Fio as i tried making a much thicker smoothie to add it to just now (with banana, pineapple, more strawberry yoghurt and just a dash of apple juice) and dd is drinking this happily as i speak :o
think i will try the free sample of the chewables now as i might get them next time if they are better
Thanx all
