What's the story? How do you go about being assessed? Can you get DPs and 'link'? How many hours a week should I expect? Is it a nightmare!!!?????

So you basically have to be about to walk out on your children before they offer help?

Oh God. So like DLA forms you have to take your worse possible week and say that is your life. Great! How uplifting

Ha Ha Fio, you have just described my life to a tee!!!

I wont need to make it up ill just phone them and tell them how it is!!!

I didn't have to do that but I think my Soc Svs dept is pretty good. You can get Link and DPs but they may not offer.... Just ask for an assessment and if they agree that you need X hours of support/respite they must give them to you in DPs if you request them.

Thanks Davros, so if they don't do both I may have to drop Link?

Just a quickie Jak, off to bed! We have been getting DPs for a couple of years and were offered Link in the last 6 mos.... I suspected it would be either/or but they said no, it would be both.
