Sorry, no time to mention everyone. I'm on a dodgy wifi connection at Center Parcs where we've arrived for the weekend. Boys have an inset on Monday.

Really need some nice times, mum still in hospital but due to be discharged soon as 'medically' she's ok, just had a huge deterioration in her vascular dementia. We are organising care workers to come in 3 times a day to help her. Really hoping she'll be less confused at home as she's really off the wall in hospital.

Dickhead has been sunning himself in Malaysia with the OW, jet skiing in the Indian ocean, riding elephants etc according to Facebook. Dick. Not quite as exotic here in Longleat. Grin

Hi Ellen! Wellllll a jumbo might just stand on his foot, get sunburn and savaged by mozzies.......there is always hope Grin

Hope you have a chilled out time in Longleat good break will do you all good x

Your mum may well be less confused back in her own familiar surroundings it makes a huge difference to recovery being in your own home x

Have fun and when you spot a lion dont forget to put the wrappers in the bin Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 02/03/2012 22:22

Wow. Some of you have had really a really nasty week!. I hope next week is better for yoy.

Fond memeories of Longleat - went there often as a child. I can remember it before they planted the maze . Not been to Center Parcs there though.

Another faller here. Tripped at work and went down on my knee trying to save myself. The pain and shock were so bad I thought I was going to be sick!. Three days later knee is still swollen and throbbing but cuts to hand are scabbing over nicely thank you.

Had a nice meal out this evening with DS 'celebrating' him passing his exams. I was celebrating but he was depressed as he expected higher results.

Am looking forward to a long lie in before I blitz the house tomorrow.

coff33pot · 02/03/2012 22:44

Thanks moosemamma for kind words and help/advice earlier in week, much appreciated, hard to find such empathy outside the sens arena and the trouble with main-stream I find is that we are all so spread out, I don't know other Mums in school, with SENS. I haven't felt this low for a while, I think it's just the lack of respite, even flaming seating assessment was a trauma in half-term. Told by OT to go and choose a chair from back-on-line. I told her I would like her to attend, she said we don't do that. I said I don't feel qualified to make right choice. Agreed to attend. Got rep to come to my house and got landed with a £180 bill for a seating assessment. Haven't even dealt with that one, not going to pay it though, it's an outrage, no mention of any charges at all. On the upside kids came home from scouts tonight and daughter said she was really sorry she had been stroppy all week as she could see I was stressed and ds2 said what was the matter mum today. I told him that I handled a meeting badly and let myself be soap talked. He gave me a hug and said take me to the next meeting with you and I will help you. Bless them, they can be so gorgeous at times.

coff33pot · 02/03/2012 22:54

awww bless them supermum. Its amazing that out of the blue your children come out with something just at the right time to melt the stresses into the background :)

moosemama · 02/03/2012 22:59

I'm just sorry I can't be of more help supermum. I know what it feels like to be stuck in the SEN mire and feel like you can't climb out, no matter which way you turn. I was there myself until very recently and suspect I may be again soon, as I'm starting to feel decidedly wibbly about whether or not ds1 is going to get his statement. (Deadline for LA decision is end of March.)

I am glad your dcs came home and gave you some support. When they do something like that it really helps to remind us why we are fighting in the first place.

Can't believe they want to charge you £180 for helping you choose a chair. That's outrageous!

Coff33, glad your pup is on the mend. Smile

Ellen - enjoy your break - you deserve it! As for dickhead - dangerous things those jetskis y'know. Wink Am co-creating a nice bit of holiday tummy for the pair of them as I type. Grin

WetAugust · 02/03/2012 23:17

'The SEN mire'. A good description. Sometimes it feels like wading through treacle.

I have a DLA renewal form glowering at me. It arrived 2 weeks ago and I'm trying to ignore it for a few months.

But it puts a downer on evrything and will continue to do so until I've filled it in -and been refused Sad

NoHaudinMaWheest · 02/03/2012 23:34

coff33 as far as I culod tell, I think it might work. The head of 6th form really listened to what I said about DS and seemedto get it. Its a fairly small 6h form where teachers seem to know and like the students and whole school atmosphere was calm. Some of professionals involved with ds think he would do better in a residential setting though. However thats a whole other thread I will probably post some other time. Hope dog and ds have recovered from the trauma - and you if you were up all night.

coff33pot · 02/03/2012 23:58

Glad the 6th Form looked positive :) I think in your heart you will know what is best to do and more importantly how DS feels about it too :) Maybe a trial transition period to see how it goes may be enough for you to decide x

Wet...my DLA form is still stuck on this computer from about 6 months ago still doing a question at a time, its got to be the most depressing form ever and a nightmare of a size.

WetAugust · 03/03/2012 00:09

Agree Coff. Form devised by devils

Morning all

super Gosh, what a horrid week you are having Sad

ellen dickhead just might come back with some sort of terrible tropical disease...you know, one that nesseccitates having bits of him lopped off...not that I wish this on him...oh no!...just saying it could happen Grin We went to CP longleat a couple of years ago and loved it.

justa Picnics are the answer!!! Every day. No cooking required! Smile
An in denial atm about my tumble dryer usage...but with my back and wrists I can only put washing out on a day when it is guaranteed not to rain and we dont seem to get many of those Sad Add to that I have only just bought a washing line for the new house Blush

Ds1 is having a playdate today - arranged by him! - fingers crossed!

Have a good weekend everyone x

Hmm didn't get to go flying - waited ages for a text from my contact that never came :( He'll message me later no doubt, there was probably a logistical reason or weather reason - maybe they had a 20 minute window to get airborne or something.

Never mind, have had a nice day trying to do sequin art with my dodgy eyesight!
