My friend has a Dd who has Asd. She's 9 and in a mainstream school.
The school are not good at supporting her and keep excluding her for behaviour she has little control over and don't listen to the autism advisory teacher and fail her all the time.
They live in a village and so hard to find another local school, although I think she will move her soon.
She wants legal advice against the school. Anyone know who she should contact??

Children's Legal centre is a good place to start. Smile

Are they officially excluding her for behaviour? As in sending the correct letter advising of the exclusion or are they just sending her home (which is illegal exclusion).

Does your friend have a statement of needs?

IPSEA gave me fantastic advice last year when my lad was excluded - well worth the cost of a phone call (after 7 as it's often the only time you'll actually get through!)
