Is this what the parents of DS2's classmates think, I wonder? He doesn't hit or push the other children (unless he's backed into a corner, which is rare), but he can be noisy and disruptive in class and has a FT 1:1 (so extra attention by this thread's standards).

madwoman yes, we know what school we want. We're pretty sure we know what school they want as well, which is not IMO as suitable. Oh, and I'm American, so had to Grin at the "really bad American accent" comment! DS2 mainly has a British accent, but a few phrases and words sound distinctly American.

I still remember my younger sister being dragged into speech therapy through school as a child (in the midwest, US) as they said she was having serious pronunciation problems. My mother went in to talk to them, and apparently after a couple minutes speaking to my mother, they said "oh my god, you speak the same way!" My mother very calmly pointed out that my sister did not need speech therapy for an east coast accent, and perhaps they could educate themselves in the difference between a speech problem and a simple accent. Hmm I mean, really... what do you even say to that? Grin

Blimey. The bullying on has degenerated further.

coff33pot · 01/03/2012 10:03

Morning.........sorry I slipped away.........too much baileys.

Actually I fell asleep in my chair lol

Feel guilty as hell. Took my Jack Russel to the vets this morning to be castrated. All big eyes and excited on going for an early walk. He is up there now. I just know I am not going to be flavour of the month when I get him back wicked mum :(

Hope the appointments go ok madwoman. DS doesnt do an American accent and he has dollars in his money box dont cha know Grin

Batboots? hmmmm I reckon that would spell a good image that theres a woman who wont take know for an answer Grin

Once went to school with purple hair. Had it dyed the day before for a dinner and dance to match a dress (wild moment in my life where I was fed up going to snotty nosed dinners with DH where everyone was catty so I gave them something to talk about!) Marched up to school after an incident with eldest DD and the HT couldnt do anything but nod and stare at my hair Grin I would recommend it it numbs there volcabulary and turns them into mutes!

Now.....armed with coffee peers gingerly into the bullying thread and hopes blood pressure stays level........

coff33pot · 01/03/2012 10:13

OH! I have had my first message ever deleted by mumsnet on the SN thread Blush Grin

I only mentioned the words nasty and cruel and I dont remember swearing.......Ho hum.

boredandrestless · 01/03/2012 11:23

Morning 'ladies'! Grin

I always seem to miss the virtual booze being opened Envy, I'd gone off to bed with a camomile tea! Hmm DS wasn't here so I went up to be early to luxuriate in uninterrupted sleep - it was soo nice.

boredandrestless · 01/03/2012 11:23

BED Hmm

madwomanintheattic · 01/03/2012 15:38

Trig, we live in Canada... the accent is sooo bad, and soooooo fake, and soooooo awful (the one ds uses lol, not the local one) so it's really really obvious, and kind of like he's taking the piss. I did rofl at 'omg you speak the same way!' though. That will keep me going all day!

Right, appointment no. 1. I'm off.

coff33pot · 01/03/2012 15:44

Bed sounds a great idea at the moment. Our little dog is poorly now :( He came out of anasthetic (sp) then slipped back under that was lunchtime. They think he has had a bad reaction to the pre meds they give beforehand. Aparently he is pale, flat and cold and now on a drip :(

DS walked with me to the vets on the way to school. Of course I told him he will be ok but he has been unsettled all day and now going potty that his dog hasnt come home yet.....

This I was told can happens more so in healthy dogs but still rare. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that he comes round. I cant bring him home and DS will go berserk if he loses his dog.

Triggles · 01/03/2012 16:02

aw coff33pot - hope your dog is better soon. We have to get ours fixed soon, and I am dreading it. Sad

Panick over! Well at the moment. Just got call and went up and got him. He is so wobbly and sorry for himself bless him. Got to keep an eye on him though and take him up to doggie hospial in the night if he goes funny again. He slipped into a coma so they said :( It was an allergic reaction to the pre med. They did a blood test to see if they missed anything underlying but they hadnt other than this he is super fit.

DS is glued to his dog and the dog is glued to DS blanket Grin His little face is all squishy and wrinkly where he is trying to keep his eyes open bless.

And stress levels go doooooowwwwn :)

Triggles · 01/03/2012 19:15

oh so glad he is doing better..

on the flip side.. the one poster is getting quite nasty... the temptation to just say FUCK OFF is getting overwhelming... so I will be ignoring it I think... grrrrr

coff33pot · 01/03/2012 19:24

I was just coming here to say the same thing.....

THANK HEAVEN she doesnt teach my son or I think I would have thumped her by now.

Triggles · 01/03/2012 19:42

I cannot believe that last post... all those unbelievably WRONG assumptions...

I give up...

OP posts:
Triggles · 01/03/2012 19:44

Sorry... it just seems like "open season" on SNs lately and I'm sick of it...

Even DH has noticed that it's getting me down...

Actually I'm tempted to lend her my son for the weekend (complete with baby stick insects). His current obsession is fish fins without muscles, and the role of flies in the degeneration process. I guarantee she'd revise her opinion.

I'm so happy your wee dog is OK.

Triggles · 01/03/2012 20:18

too funny

"Lacking in education" - is that another attempt by Triggles to "name-call" me. I consider that a personal attack and wish that she would refrain from that type of behaviour on here.

coff33pot · 01/03/2012 20:33

Yes I could see what you meant. She is baiting now. I am giving up now I am afraid because I am about to lose it. Two nights of this, and what was on this SN board is enough for me.

I am going to put the kids to bed, cuddle the dog and watch Holby City on iplayer with a latte mmmmmm

Pop back later most probably. Dont lose your hair over that lot mate x

bochead · 01/03/2012 20:53

I'm tempted to shove a thermometer between her ears. She's proved there's nought there at all!

I will not look again - its a car crash!

saintlyjimjams · 02/03/2012 11:53

ha ha I stumbled in.

I'm still not sure what the suggested approaches were other than 'tell them it's not nice' ha ha ha ha

Actually that was ds1's mainstream teacher's suggestion when ds1 was pinching her to hear her squeal (cause and effect - perfect - she was like a toy pinch shriek pinch shriek pinch shriek)
'please can you tell him pinching isn't nice'. He was non-verbal, severely autistic with zero understanding of anything except nouns. I was cross though because her shrieking led to him pinching far and wide and we really had our work cut out stopping it with her reinforcing it every day at school.

grrr

madwomanintheattic · 02/03/2012 16:46

That's like Chris Green's story in toddler taming. Kid kicked him accidentally during reflex testing, and he (without thinking) did a whole comedy 'ooo, oowwww, you hurt me' routine. Every time he saw the kid in the future, he would just put the boot in to get him to squawk again. At least he had the sense to acknowledge that it was him that had taught the child to do it. Grin

Triggles · 02/03/2012 21:55

I had to laugh.. it really was a "no-win" thread... didn't matter what was suggested, it was damaging to the poor victim...

sigh.. I think the parent was more upset than the "victim" Hmm

OP posts:
coff33pot · 02/03/2012 22:15

I can understand the parent being a bit miffed at the idea in the first instance because she is not going to know what is going on behind the scenes and to her it probably looks like favouritism.

But she never actually put that her child was upset by it just that she was!

Also enough explained what it is about. But the whole thread was going in circles with some really negative stuff thrown in. It wound me up so I didnt even put the computer on today at all lol just incase I took a peek.
