Is this what the parents of DS2's classmates think, I wonder? He doesn't hit or push the other children (unless he's backed into a corner, which is rare), but he can be noisy and disruptive in class and has a FT 1:1 (so extra attention by this thread's standards).

I think that thread just reinforces to me that I want DS2 nowhere near MS as he gets older and that social gap widens. Sad

I can see it from both sides, i think ultimately it comes down to how the school deal with it, if NT kids are left feeling like they are being 'punished' for behaving the school are doing something wrong. We have been in that situation with DD, we also get the attitude because of DS, lose lose.

bochead · 29/02/2012 16:02

There were some very good educational explanations on that thread for the open minded on that thread. Some people just don't WANT to understand (empathy seems in very short public supply at the moment), simlar non-stop winging occured in the 70's when "Naice white kids" had to share a classroom with those of other races.

Their parents were convinced they would be dragged down by the presence of brown skin, and not even reams of stats re exam results of the differing ethnicities would change their minds. Same narrow, predjudiced mindset, different target.

The earth keeps turning and we plod on.

Same narrow, predjudiced mindset, different target.

Very true Bochead

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 20:02

I am slowly beginning to give up on that thread. I am close to becoming non diplomatic................time for a coffee methinks.

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 20:02

And go back to my cats Grin

UniS · 29/02/2012 20:05

I gave up on it. was too close to spitting bricks at one or two posters.

StarlightDicKenzie · 29/02/2012 20:45

Well there#s an even worse one ON the SN board now!

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 20:49

eh?

boredandrestless · 29/02/2012 21:19

Can I come stomping in here please to huff and puff a bit? And I've not even looked at the thread in the op yet. If I do someone might lose their head. Angry

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 21:37

DONT LOOK...........for your own sanity...........

I think mine went about half hour ago Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 29/02/2012 21:41

I can't even begin to think about posting on that other thread in SN. It's not nice and people are getting upset.

used2bthin · 29/02/2012 21:52

It really isn't nice, way too close to home. As I read it I just lost hope rather than feeling any angrier! Too sad that people could even think like that.

bochead · 29/02/2012 22:01

The thread on board right now is a successful application for a Darwin Award. Wink

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 22:05

Well I dared look at this OPs thread (I hate it over there) and then this one here and to be honest I am angry, deflated and down right flabbergasted and some peoples views. The mind boggles.

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 22:06

:) @ bochead

boredandrestless · 29/02/2012 22:17

The OP's thread is quite a common thought I think amongst the majority. I don't really get it TBH, especially the jealous over our dcs getting a TA's 'attention'. Do they think that if our DC with SN wsn't in the classroom with their precious child, that the TA would still be there twiddling their thumbs and able to help out the NT children??? Confused Do they not realise the TA would vanish along with the child with a statement???

The mind really boggles!!!

And the biting thread, well I've ran out of words so I'm going to get on with sewing on the rest of this velcro strap onto DS's pirate hat. Hmm

boredandrestless · 29/02/2012 22:19

Ooh and while I'm on my soap box....... has anyone else noticed the statement "I know there may be SNs...." in the same way as people say "I'm not a racist but....." Grrrrr. Angry

StarlightDicKenzie · 29/02/2012 22:23

I get annoyed when people put a caveat in 'course I don't mean children with SN!'

Wtf does that actually MEAN?

madwomanintheattic · 29/02/2012 22:23

I'm not reading the bullying one out of principle, can only deal with one idiot a day and the rest will have to wait. Grin

Biter op seems to have calmed down now. Not sure if she tripped and fell in a cold puddle or glanced in the mirror or what, but I think something has clicked.

We are in the grand position of always being the family with the kid with the easy to get help that she only needs a little bit of the time. So everyone loves dd2. Grin head teachers nod sagely and tot up how much money they can save in their heads by using her TA to look after the rest of the sn kids in the class. Grin

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 22:25

Dont get me started Star my last cup of coffee went sour Grin

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 22:27

AH! madwoman I think I am spending the rest with no change Grin

bochead · 29/02/2012 22:28

Try being the single Mum of a kid with an invisible diisability and having a hint of a tint with a Muslim best friend who keeps her face coveredWink

Bump along the sofa gals and pass round my dark chocolate a ginger cookies. bored grab the glasses, coff pour the baileys and someone open the hagen daas. We've all got our ishooson this board but I'm so glad not I'm not "like them", nudge, nudge "I know there may be special needs type"

coff33pot · 29/02/2012 22:31

Baileys poured! Damn ICE!!

ROFL @thermometer I was crying with laughter when you posted that the other day Grin
