dd has loads of people involved and school support wise is probably ok as they are about to do a statement review and are preparing evidence with the aim of asking for full time one to one support. Its mainstream though and although she's making progress, its hard to know where she could be if in a different enviro mentt. Also I panic about them not having as much experience of children with her issues as a specialised setting might.
Anyhow, I have e mailed the senco to ask whether we could have the ed psych look at her progress- she had a private ed psych assessment at ICAN back in nov 2010 but since then not much other than the ed psych visiting to advise school on how to support her. We moved and the new ed psych is not as pro active so I feel I'll need to ask if I want anything done!
Then she has a community pead review appointment in june. We've come to the end of genetic testing and almost the end of metabolic testing. She has had a clear MRI. But she still has SLI, learning difficulites9and there is some confusion as to whether she is affected only by the SLI and it impacts on other areas or whether she has across the board disordered development. Physio assessment found her development to be behind-in line with overall development. I feel I don't know whats going on but I know the main area of concern is speech and language and this is decribed as severely disordered.
In others experience is there hope for a cause or diagnosis? And who would be best to give an overall, this is her and this is what she needs kind of an overview?
She is five and has SLI, microcephaly, benign rolandic epilepsy and is steroid dependant due to a genetic condition. Behaviour is becoming more and more afected but she is generally quite sociable in character-just can't join in well due to very limited language.
