how often should non verbal dd2.5 been seen by SALT IYO pls?

Just wondering what people thought to this +their experiences please?

my opinion is weekly but it rarely happens in rl. Non verbal dd was seen twice a year at that age and even now at 8, still non verbal she is seen for half an hour every fortnight. Its shit.

Agree with above poster. My DD has a severe speech and language delay (is aged 3.5 yrs and had been in the "system" since she was 2 yrs old) and has been seen 4 times by SALT in that time. Apparently she will only be seen once (for half an hour) per school term.
It's beyond shit. It's useless and hopeless.

She has been seen once since starting preschool last September. No actual therapy BTW, just assessments, endless assessments that lead to no practical help, advice or speech therapy. Shit.

Well after attending a parent workshop thing this morning I was told dd wld be seen once every 3 months! I thought they wld assess each case+decide then but apparently not. That means she will be seen 3 times before starting school and is nv at moment.
I was thinking once a week wld be great or at least once a fortnight, I did see a private salt for one off consultation b4 xmas who was v.good so might try+see if she will be willing to do once a fortnight. I know lots of the stuff has to be done at home ourselves but I thought every 3months is just too long between sessions with salt

Have you tried the Cerebra site? They used to offer grants worth £500 for speech and language therapy for children who are on SA Plus or have a statement and have not had speech and language therapy in the last 6 months.
