I only know what I have found out about ABA by googling it. However I think I remember a thread on here about adapting it for social problems etc in HFA. My specific problem is with DS(15). He has AS and really quite severe OCD. The treatment of choice for OCD is CBT but because of his AS he really cannot access it. He has been under the care of the OCD clinic at the Maudsley which is the national centre for OCD including a long inpatient stay but has not made any really sustained progress. Now he is deteriorating again and beyond saying 'we find that young people with comorbid ASD are often the ones who don't do very well', noone seems to have any ideas about where we go next. So I am trying to think laterally and wondering if ABA could be adapted to deal with OCD rituals and if so where I would start finding that help. Of course I might be up a gum tree, but if so please tell me and I will go and find another gum tree to climb. Thanks.
