Hi all,
I am thinking about applying for a Blue Badge for my Autistic and Deaf 5yr old. He is horrendous in carparks, and has no sense of danger or road sense. He is also very willful at times. We receive DLA Middle Rate for Personal Care, and have just been awarded Lower Rate for Mobility. I have checked the DirectGov Eligibility requirements, and I wondered that as ASD is now a recognised permanent disability would I be able to word the form appropriately to get him a Blue Badge?
Directgov's qualifying statement - "I am over the age of two and have a permanent and substantial disability which means that I have very considerable difficulty in walking"
Opinions please?
