testing for milk/gluten problems?

i read about sending off a urine sample somewhere, who, how what where etc?

dd2 is living on bread and milk, her screeches are gettign worse. just wondering if this is one avenue to explore.

What are the ingredients of the bread?

The urine screening isn't conclusive, it just picks up peptides connected to sensitivities to wheat and milk proteins and can give an indicator as to whether or not the gf/cf diet might help.

thats the one i was after karen. dont think dd2 is allergic, but sensitive to it. she craves them like a drug. she is a milk addict.

Worth testing if she's self limiting to gluten and casein (ds1 self limited to cheeerios and bread and nothing else before we tested) - Sunderland are helpful (I have ds3's sitting on the side debating whether to do it or not...)

is it on the link there who to contact. did u test this way with ds1? dd2 was gluten and egg free for pretty much her 1st year as she would puke after eating it. i slowly introduced it when she around 1. which makes me wonder even more.

also would it be worth testing and trying the GF?CF diet before assessment was started?

Misdee, my child has asd, and I have found a wonderful DAN nutritionist located in chester. I dont know if your child has ASD, but this woman, Jean Muscroft, is fabulous and will walk you through an entire range of tests. She is not a GP but has a lot of experience and has been simply wonderful for us, trying to get to the bottom of our sons gut issues, including the milk and gluten allergies/intolerance. If there are milk and gluten problems, there are probably other problems like malabsorbtion and possible nutritional problems.

anyway, she is worth an email: She costs significantly less than a private doctor and is certainly worth her weight in gold, compared to a mainstream GP, who i have found are NOT helpful at all.

dd2 is being assessed for ASD at CDC soon (gotta phone HV to chase up referral), as the pre-school picked up saome 'differculties' with dd2 behaviour. i have had suspecicions since dd2 was a baby that something wasnt right, but was told i was paranoid by a lot of people, so didnt mention it to the pre-school when she started. i told myself if there was something off with dd2, then they'd notice, and they did, so we are now in the system.
