gonna cut a long story short, my son is 9 and has hemiplegia and wets the bed every night :( my youngest daughter is 3 and has severe constipation for 18month now, she is on strong medication which makes her have diarrhoea ....
we live in a council property, our boiler system is rather old and its the one you need to switch on an hour prior to wanting hot water...
this is not ideal as i need constant water for 2 of my children :( my health visitor and my daughters padetrician have wrote letters on my behalf which i handed in to the local council office stating i needed constant hot water. the estate manager came to see me and basically said well cant u turn water on for an hour at 12 then back off and on later..my reply- i cant guess when my children are going to wet and soil the bed, he then told me to keep it on all night,my reply was i couldnt afford to, he then said to it the old fashioned way and boil the kettle :o
needless to say they arent going to help me, nor social services as they dont do that kind of thing....really dont know where to ask next....
any suggestions...iv read abot disabled facilities grants but when i asked the council to put me through to correct department she said she hadnt eard of it...
im so angry :(

I'm not sure if this would be covered by a Disabled facilities grant or not - but you won't know unless you speak to the department that deals with it.
The grants are administered by the Local Authority so hard to believe they said they have never heard of them!!! Try ringing again, maybe you will get a different call handler who will know who to put you through to.
I do know that this is one area that many LA's have cut funding to because of cash shortages - so the eligibility may have changed recently.

www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/On_a_low_income/DG_10018661?CID=MTB&PLA=warmfront&CRE=lowincome

heres a heating system grant for peeps on low incomes/disabled kids from central government - you have nought to lose by giving them a call.
