my 6 year old dd attends a BESN special needs school. she has just come home with a letter informing me of the immediate but temporary closure of her school. this means will have a 6 year old with AS home at least for the rest of this week. what the hell am i supposed to do with her? and how am i meant to school her? obviously she is my daughter so i have no issue spending time with her (she is actually good as gold when its just her and me) but am now really worried that the school will stay shut. the reasons for the closure appear to be something to with their recent move to a new building, no idea what though. aaarrrggghhh!!!!!!

Oh no, hope they sort it out soon. I would suspect an issue with heating or plumbing tbh. I wouldn't worry too much about schooling her, given the situation - maybe read a book or two, or let her play some vaguely educational games on the cbeebies website?

oh a simple board game with dice is good addition practice!

I wouldn't worry about educating her if she's only home for a week.

well i have some beads for her to play with, so she can count them onto the thread. will be going shooping so she can read signs and stuff, and will find other bits for her to do. more concerned about how short notice it was than anything else. i didnt find out until she came home at 3.30 this afternoon, good job i dont work full time eh?
