Most recent signed conversation with my daughter (3.5) went like this-
[dd hits me with charley bears plane]
Me: Ow. You hurt me.
Dd: Ow. [hits me with plane again]
Me: Ow. Stop. You hurt me. I'm cross.
Dd: cross. Cross. Cross. [sign accompanied by grrrr noises, hits me with plane again].
Me: Ow. Stop. I'm sad. I'm crying.
Dd: Ow ow ow. Tissue? [makes another swing for me with plane, (luckily charley bear is not around to witness this)]
Me: [removing plane] stop, you're being naughty.
Dd: you're naughty. You're naughty. I'm cross . You're naughty. [accompanied with her manic laughter]
Heeeeeellllppppp!
Now I know I wanted her to sign. And I am pleased as punch that we can have a conversation. But arguing in sign with a toddler is surreal. And I think I'm close to loosing the plot tonight.
How is everyone else doing?
