DS 4 ASD / LD attends a special school. There are 6 other children in his class most with ASD including one little boy ds used to attend developmental nursery sessions with and we often meet up at soft play. DS now has a few words, the other boy is almost non verbal - they don't usually interact when we meet up but will play alongside each other and there is some kind of recognition between them.
In school on Friday they were both sitting together in the corner of the classroom laughing and tickling each other - the staff were amazed.
It sounds such a small thing - two children laughing and tickling each other but if you have a child with ASD I'm sure you will understand how happy I am!!!!
