As you know we had the horrendous day at the hospital when her surgery was cancelled due to her 'crackly' chest. I complained to the hospital director and recieved a good reply.
He saw dd1 in his private practice ( he is a respiratory physician). He checked her all out, asked me other questions - like who her doctors were for various things. When I mentioned we needed to see her paed to get some results back and sort out referral for orthotics and her appt was the day before surgery. He offered to sort it all out to save me another trip to the hospital.
Dd1 was very restless and antsy during the appt, wanting to get into everything, cranky etc. I was so pleased as he asked me if this is what she was like the day we were due to have her surgery and had to wait over 6 hours to leave the hospital. He then apologised again for what happened.
So we have her test results - she does not have axial-atlanto instability - neck weakness which can result in serious injury depending on the activity.
And we have a referral via email to the senior orthotist with an appt on the 8th of Feb to check out her inserts that she is rapidly growing out of. We had her first ones done privately as we really could not afford to wait and we can't keep paying out that kind of money every 6 months or so.
So all in all - the hospital director ( who is also dh's boss) was sooo helpful and went a long way to making life easier for us. Finally someone who realises what a struggle it can sometimes be to take dd1 to appts and wait and wait and wait.
So roll on 25Jan - get this sorted and hopefully - no more sleep apnoea and no more waking tired and cranky.
