Wasn't to sure where to post this so here goes.............If you have been turned down for DLA what was the most hurtful/incredulous reason you were given?

Got eldest's mobility decreased to LR couple of years back. The reason from a GP who had never met us, who we had never even heard of:

"This child makes a conscious decision not to walk"

That was it. Based on that they decreased him to LRM and it took me 2 appeals and a tribunal to reverse the decision (8 months of paperwork/reports/contacting his original geneticist from 10 years prior/every professional you can shake a stick at. The paperwork was approx 6 inches high.
The tribunal overturned it in seconds and i got it all back but it was absolutely appalling. even the DLA didn't know that tis GP had not requested meeting my son. But they still took his word!

we are going to tribunal. DD (4, asd and severe s&l delay, not fully toilet trained, cannot dress/undress, severe anxiety issues, Likely to need special school, no sense of danger, sensory processin disorder etc) has been turned down.

the reason? DD has "mild communcation" difficulties but otherwise her development is age approbriate. but to be honest - I have no fucking clue how they came up with this bullshit. all the professional reports (many) back us up. I think that is what I find most upsetting. our case is as strong as it gets and I have to keep fighting and wasting my time with these idiots. but I will not give in.

Oh God Junkie that's awful. Please keep fighting, I to am going threw this process, we are now going to an "upper tribunal". Where I will get the strength from I don't know, but for my son I will just keep going.

Let us know how you get on.

Why are DLA people such idiots?

I can understand if the criteria bar is raised due to David fucking Cameron and his evil mob, but why give such ridiculous reasons?

Are DLA people just admin monkeys who are told specifically to turn down a large percentage of cases regardless of merit?

I'd love someone from DLA (a rebel one Grin) to come here and give advice to us all...

I think so, pretty sure they have to turn down a certain percentage. our second appeal got turned down in december. I bet our case worker was desperatly trying to hit her yearly target.

but I will get it in the end!
