That's it really, we don't have a start date yet but she has been given a place. it's an observation and assessment unit to start with and then they make recommendations on where would be the best next step. Her main difficulties are in S&L but there is talk of ASD.

It was saddening and positive at the same time. Saddening because this is the path DD is on and it just makes me sad for what could have been, but positive because it's a lovely place with lots of staff and expertise.
Sorry just having a bit of a down moment Smile

It sounds really positive, Nice. How old is your DD? My DS2 went to a similar assessment and development centre/school from 3 until 5, and once I got over the fact that this was for children with SN, it was a lovely time, lots of development and understanding of him and a peer group. I made some really close friends.

Hi EllenJane,
I dont like to not reply but not been able to get to laptop for a few days and hate using phone to post!

She is 4 in 2weeks, have had a bit of time to get our heads round the idea as EP proposed this in Sept. Still, going to see the place was a different kettle of fish. It is a lovely place and the staff seem so helpful and patient and really think that in spite of her really loving MS school, its not a long term plan and its really not helping her. Its nice cos she's happy but its of no use to her speech!! This unit will be more intensive and may be the kick she needs to get her going.
Had a bit of a Shock mammy moment yesterday which to me proved she is readay to take this next step - was singing the Peppa Pig tune to her Blush and she SANG it back to me. Never sung anything before in her life......hopefully its just the beginning [fingers crossed emoticon]
