hi AYC is Swindon any good for you? I know it's unitary authority and not wilts, but there is at least one secondary ASD unit, possibly more, I can ask friends for info if that would be useful?

The best school for Aspies is without doubt Springfield at Calne. Other alternatives would be the Priory Group schools in Frome.

I think they are kingsdown school and greendown school (which I think was going to/has become lydiard park academy.)

Hope that's useful. (If you head this way for a look at the schools you are welcome to stop in for a cuppa)

There's an excellent secondary ASD base in Frome, run by Somerset County Council - it's called Park Road and has an excellent reputation. I know of a family who send their son there and it's done wonders for him. It's quite small I think, but might be worth a look if you haven't already found somewhere - am aware you posted in Jan, but also know how long these things take to work out!

As mentioned above Kingsdown and Lydiard Park Academy both have nits attached to mainstream, not heard of any reports, positive or negative. Also Commonweal in Old Town, though not sure how they fair with experience with ASD! Friend has Dyslexic ds just started last week in unit.

My DS1 is in Crowdy's Hill School, down by Moonies pub, this is SS though.

Got to dash, will check back later
