Dyslexia school 1 st statement review

Hi I will soon be along with school reviewing my sons Statement. All along we wanted him to attend Maple Hayes Dyslexic school but being an Independant school LA wouldn't name it as his school. After almost a year of going along with their recommendations we still feel he would be better of going to our choice school as I 'm concerned about him going to High School as I know he will not be ready. Dose anyone have any advice or succeeded in getting a Indepedant school on a statement any advise would be appreciated for us goning to his statement review please.

Just thought I would tell you, briefly, how I got my DD aged 8 into Maple Hayes funded by LEA. DD was diagnosed as severely dyslexic a year ago. I requested LEA to assess her for statement. They did this no problem. To my surprise they immediately issued a statement... With provision of 1hr 1:1 a a week with 12hr TA time. I did not accept this. I got help from a specialist solicitor, made an appeal to SENDIT, tribunal due to take place in March. However LEA phoned and told me they had decided to name Maple Hayes in statement. She starts Monday!!!! It was not easy but with a few strongly worded letters and an excellent solicitor I succeeded in get DD the education she needs.
