New thing

Hi all, hope you had a reasonable new years. We stayed at my fathers house which was ok but there is only so much my ex army dad can tolerate with my 3 running around let alone one of them being ?SNso we packed up and left a few hours earlier.

Anyway before we went away we noticed jack has a new thing where he spits into his hands and "washes" himself. I asked him why at the time and he said its because he doesn't like people touching him. :(

It's got worse over the weekend and even my dad noticed and called him weird.

Bless him, thats unfair of your dad to call him weird.

Dd2 sometimes calls Dd3 weird and I tell her off.

What about anti bacterial handwipes could he carry these ina wee backpack or something?

Got to be worth a try at the very least but I don't think he'll think to do it, it seems to be an automatic thing he does.

Yesterday someone who he had never met was talking to him - friend of a friend kind of person and afterwards he came over to me and I noticed his hair was wet and I asked why because I hadn't seen him leave the room to go anywhere for it to get wet and he said it "That person touched my head". So i watched him afterwards (without him seeing) and noticed he did it whenever anybody touched him.

Oh right that does sound like a tricky situation. Wouldn't know where to start withthat. Maybe you can try to get him accustomed him to people shaking his hand etc, talk to him about why he doesn't like it and see if he will use the wipes discreetly when the other person has left. Sorry haven't come up against that one yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I do x

my nephew carries around a pot of antibacterial gel with him and wears a baseball cap :)
