Not sure if this is the correct place to post. Looking to find out more about Motor Displexia. DGS has been newly diagonized.

Do you meant Motor Dyspraxia?

It's difficulty with co-ordinating your body.

Common symptoms are:

  • Clumsy
  • Messy Handwriting
  • Difficulties with PE and sports
  • Difficulties with cutlery, shoelaces, ties etc

And there's a load of other symptoms he might have - including effects on his self-esteem, anxiety, behaviour etc.

How to Understand and Support Children with Dyspraxia

Thanks for your replies. Yes, I did mean Motor Dyspraxia. Can only blame the stress of running around trying to finish Christmas shopping.

Have quickly read the sites listed and I feel terrible as DGD will quickly wipe his face or head when anyone gives him a kiss. I now know that this is part of it.

We tended to make a bit of a joke about it. His Mum is the only person who can kiss him. He will accept big hugs though.

My DS (9) with dyspraxia, loves big bear hugs too. Its the deep pressure of it for him and can cure a multitude of ails! Xmas Smile
