I know its annoying, i suppose if your dd1 doesnt have a noticable disability (sorry i dont knkw ) then people assume you shouldnt be using it! i hate people who stare and glare in general! i just stare back

onlyjoking9329 · 09/01/2006 08:22

know how you feel, we have three blue badges for the kids, one for the dashboard and two with nicely sharpened corners to shove up the nostrils of anyone who tuts, must admit i look at people in the disabled parking bit to check if they have a badge. it is harder if your kids disability is not visable.

totally agree with you, I'm very touchy about it. 3 times I've been challenged in Sainsburys carpark over this subject!

eidsvold · 09/01/2006 10:10

she has down syndrome and whilst she is walking she is still very unsteady on her feet and has absolutely NO road sense what so ever - I am usually signing like mad to her and she is on reins when we alight from the car.

No one has dared say anything YET - oh I wish they would... makes me so annoyed - always make sure my badge is prominently displayed..

Stares I can handle, its when you start getting verbal abuse for parking there, I can't!!

Dinosaur · 09/01/2006 10:16

That is outrageous, eidsvold. No wonder you get wound up.

eidsvold · 09/01/2006 10:30

sparkly I think I have now cultivated a slightly deranged crazed woman look that scares them into staring rather than commenting.

Slightly off subject but I get stared at for talking to ds simply. He has ASD and is only just learning to speak so I keep my language simple for him to copy. People have told me to stop treating him like a baby!
Bugger off and let me raise my ds as I see fit.

Got another one!
Some nosey cow told me that my ds is too old to be in nappies and he should be toilet trained!
She told me that I should be ashamed of myself to still have a 4 year old in nappies!
Ok hes not 4 yet and we are going to attempt the Cod school of toilet training this week() but its still no one elses business.

oh giddy - that reminds me of the time an old man decided to wave his walking stick at dd1 who was having a minor meltdown - not coping with grocery shopping and tut away - tellyou if I was not soo busy trying to calm dd1 down - I would have shoved that stick right where the sun don't shine.... how dare some old fart menace my child.

so I am sure you would probably want to inflict pain using said sticks everytime you see one....

misdee - lucky you - we have stairs oh for a bungalow!! ( jsut joking) this place is perfect for us - dd1 can negotiate the stairs very well now.

oh yes, we are also rolling in it due to DLA payments. pmsl. i;d hand it all back to have a 'normal' life with 'normal' and healthy kids and dh.

peter jokes that i shoul,d claim for myself for the days when my hands stop working (i couldnt get the lid of the tea caddy) or when i am in pain cos of muscle spasms. i tell him i am not having 4 out of 5 on dla, i can just about dela with 3 out of 5.

spursmum · 09/01/2006 11:24

Ohhh don't get me started on Maintenance. CSA tell em that it's not worth bothering finding ds' father as his contribution will be minimal compared to all the benefits!!!
I'm always being told that Im a free-loader because Im on benefits.
BTW Misdee calls me her personal clown! I have an inate ability to make people giggle.

I hate it also!!

I presume people don't realise Children can have blue badges

I even limped once coz we were being stared at

misdee · 09/01/2006 11:35

i am actually fearful of dd2 qualifying for a badge. she looks normal, well untill she rubs her face on the floor.
