DS and DD go to special school 25 miles away.Dropped home at 4.35 this evening escourt in tears----DS's 1-1 was upset that he was having seizure and the escourt hadn't noticed on morning journey. The taxi firm are now saying they will no longer be prepared to take DC's to school anymore. Rang transport dept NO ONE THERE TO HELP. Where do we stand legally, to me we and DC's are the innocent ones and the LEA have responsibility. How long do we wait as both are tube fed on transport training seizures etc.

The issue is that they need to recognise seizures. Then follow policy.

DD1's transport policy says that they won't treat seizures. They pull over to the side of the road and call an ambulance. The only exception is if they are very close to the school, in which case they would get to school ASAP so that staff could assess/treat if appropriate, then call ambulance if necessary.

The escourt is a RGN and DS has health care plan for seizures for transport but I must admit his seizures are complex. The problem is between school and the escourt and she is refusing to do the school run and the driver is not prepared to work with anyone else and my DC's are stuck in the middle. The LEA obviously are unable to find anybody before the new year so it looks like Xmas hols start here. I am cross
