A teething ring with ribbons attached and anything small and musical I've found in charity shops over the last few weeks (no point in getting them new - they invariably end up in the washing up bowl).

MincePieFlavouredVoidka · 04/12/2011 13:09

DS's new obsession is spyrographs (dont know if anynes remembers them). He cant do them but he likes collecting the wheels, so he is getting someof these wheels that I have scoured online and charity shops for.

MincePie, I have a spyrograph in a kinder egg egg. If you would like it, PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post.

He kept breaking the cheap feather duster, so I've splashed out on a Lakeland one.

pastry brushes (the colourful rubber ones) & fabric tape measures ("number eels"), and some Octonauts toys but they're just mundane Wink

My ds would like a radio telescope Xmas Grin. I can just see that in our back garden, NOT! Needless to say what we get will not be wanted because the list has to be done in order and the radio telescope is at the top Xmas Sad.

TheTimeTravellersWife · 04/12/2011 20:14

DD likes popping bubble wrap! So getting some for Christmas!

coff33pot · 04/12/2011 20:42

a microscope and a worm farm. DS has a thing about collecting worms and putting them in his pockets ug! and also a thing for picking up bits of fluff and small paper, cat wiskers to collect if one of mine lose one lol so I thought he could look under the scope!

tocha · 04/12/2011 20:46

Voidka - my DS likes spirograph type toys too I was so disgruntled they seem to have discontinuted it. Crayola used to do a set with penguins, and Tate Gallery does a dinky little set in a tin.

coff33pot · 04/12/2011 20:47

oh and some wooden pegs. He likes colouring them green and putting faces on them for soldiers. He has real plastic soldiers but he like doing these and my peg basket is empty!

GloriaTheHighlyFlavouredLady · 04/12/2011 21:56

Jerbil · 04/12/2011 22:16

Colourful paper clips including different shapes, rubber bands, rolls and rolls of sellotape, glue, and egg cartons, empty boxes galore. Oh, and paint. Come to think of it I could probably buy him a mop and he'd be happy! :-)

ineedstrongcoffee · 04/12/2011 22:26

A handheld vaccum cleaner, cos he likes to clean and an hamster toy that repeats everything you say to it (so not only am i going to have to listen to an echolalic boy but an echolalic hamster too).Xmas Smile.
I do know hes going to make me cringe tho when he insists on taking the vaccum to the relatives over xmas and uses his new phrase (the foor is disgustingly dirty) at each place we will visit Xmas Blush

ineedstrongcoffee · 04/12/2011 22:29

Oh yes and he wants a condom machine that they have in the supermarket toilets near where we live.Xmas Grin he thinks its a lovely moneybox.

coff33pot · 04/12/2011 22:32

ineed! I have just choked on my coffee! money box hahahahaha! Grin

ineedstrongcoffee · 04/12/2011 23:00

coffee its not funny Grin i can face the hand dryer meltdown, the having to que meltdown and the having to get his hands washed meltdown but the "want to put pennies in the moneybox " meltdown tips me over the edge everytime......wonder if he will like the lovely pig moneybox santa is fetching half as much Xmas Smile

coff33pot · 05/12/2011 00:14

No I am sorry its not funny.............Grin

I am with you on the handryer meltdowns though! One goes off and DS shouts "Everybody down! I got this covered!!!"..............trouble is he is on the deck to with his hands over his ears Confused

I am sure he will love the pig moneybox :)

If not you could always buy one of those Dairy Milk bar ones with the two slots and...............errr ummm draw pictures on it? Grin

ineedstrongcoffee · 05/12/2011 09:06
Grin
tryingtokeepintune · 05/12/2011 10:11

Peanut ball, wobble cushion and I thought a worm farm but dh started taking bets on how long it'd be before ds tips it over so maybe not a good idea.

Oh, also the Alien shootout toy that was featured in the NAS magazine.

I need - I love the idea of a machine in the house.
