hi there..
ds 7 is adhd and we think he has aspergers now aswell,
tonite,i met a friend at the local pub for a drink,my friend also has a child with adhd,we chat for a long time about our children, and a parent from the school was standing behind us,(i didnt realise)heard what we were talking about,
she turned around later in the eve and said,(very drunkly)your son is fine, hows he getting on?whats up with him?its that bloody school!hes ok.my girl is bad to....
i answered her saying ds is getting on sooo well this year thank you,he doing well, she said my dd is in the naughty class, weve even had ed psych in,but he told us what we already knew! i asked what was that then?she said that shes fine!
so.....should i just ignore all of that, she was very drunk, was she calling out for a little help?
ive told no one at the school ds has adhd, and dont want them to know!!!! at all.....does anyone else feel like this after a recent diagnosis?
im hoping she will be so drunk she wont remember what myself and my friend chatted about.

I wouldn't worry too much, as it sounds she had a reasonable motivation for finding your convo interesting, not just gossip iyswim, as she seems in a similar position but possibly in denial. People have different approaches re:DX - some parents are v. much out and proud re:the DXs, hoping that it will help others be understanding as so benefit their child and others with SN, I am more of your opinion, wanting it to be treated as confidential medical information.
