My child's not perfect

Next Tuesday's episode looks really interesting about autism and ADHD. Have just sky plused it now in case I forget to watch it.

I wanted to cry when I saw the trailer for this. How can anyone go on TV with a programme with that title. What will their children think when they see it? What sort of message is that for a child? Or, for that matter, to send out to others who have no experience or understanding of the condition?

I am so angry that they chose to call it that. Just to add fuel to the fire for all those ignorant B*tards who think autism is somehow catching, or children who have autism and similar conditions should be hidden away and not allowed out amongst 'normal', 'perfect' children.

My child has autism and he IS perfect. Let's have a TV programme that stresses the positive contributions made by disabled people.

I thought that about the title too - luckily DS hasn't seen a trailer for it
