DLA review due Aprl 2012- are they still issuing forms?

I have a son with ASD and we usually get the form from the DWP six months prior to the review ie October 2011 we should have received a form. Nothing has turned up- are they still using forms or should I expect a medical assessment do you think?

Thanks

No. The don't send renewal forms anymore in case they manage to save a month or two payment whilst you realise then get the paperwork etc.

That is really useful Gloria. I would have been waiting for a renewal letter if you hadn't asked OP!

Have just looked at the online form but half the boxes appear to be missing on my screen - is it just me?

imogengladheart - sorry don't know the answer to that one - we claim for CP!

imogen - yes you can. Even if not diagnosed, if you can provide the evidence from professionals, you should still be entitled to apply for your DC. Even without high rate mobility (which the chances are, unless you can be bloody persuasive and persistent, you wouldn't get without high rate care), you can in theory apply for a blue badge.

Oh thanks everyone. WE'll have to get on and call them.

I was sent out my child's renewal form a few months ago. His renewal date is next week.

keepingupwiththejoneses · 01/12/2011 23:28

Both my boys dla was up for renewal this year, the forms where sent out about 3-4 months before.

We were told we'd get a form a few months prior to DS2 turning 5yo re the mobility aspect, and we never got it. We're holding off at this point about the mobility anyway, but still think it's off that they tell people they'll get forms automatically when it wasn't sent.

AgnesDiPesto · 02/12/2011 09:24

We got our renewal sent automatically in about June (DS DLA ran out mid Nov), we were really slow at filling it in so didn't send it back until October and got the decision within 3-4 weeks. Kept HRC and got LRM, no problems and awarded until 2016.

So massively better than I was expecting in the current climate.

I think the form is still online as well.

survivingsummer · 02/12/2011 20:58

Phoned about renewals the other day - they are still sending them out about 3 months before.

Interesting and glad I know what they're up to nowadays. I usually get them 6 months prior to renewal too. Thanks for the heads up!
Got to do eldest in 2013 and then youngest 2014 I think. I just wish they'd give it for life, they aren't going to be cured!!!
