Ds2 started in a special needs unit attached to a infant school this morning. He was quite enthusiastic about going but when the time came for me to leave him he got a bit upset. I know he'll get used to it but I feel all tearful now leaving him. I can't believe my little boy is suddenly at school. He looked so grown up in his uniform and he is very proud of his lunchbox .

Oh, I hope it goes well Saker.

My DS2 (nt) started Reception today as well, at the same school as his brother (HFA) attends.

Good luck to everyone else's children starting school today!

Good luck to all the new starters.

They seem to instantly age as soon as they put their uniform on, don't they?

Thanks Coppertop and Dinosaur, I hope it went well for your Ds2 in reception Dinosaur.

It wasn't a great start for Ds2 - apparently he cried quite a bit then fell asleep on the teacher's lap and when I went to get him he was crying because he didn't want his lunch. He looked as though he was in shock, hardly talking or able to walk properly.

Brought him home and he went straight to sleep. He hardly ever sleeps in the day. Half of me is wondering if he's ill, otherwise he must have felt very unhappy to react like this. I am not looking forward to taking him again tomorrow .
