Ok, This may seem like a daft question, but my DS is literally unable to sit still, if you take him anywhere he messes with EVERYTHING, shopping is a complete nightmare! He runs off, throws himself to the floor and refuses to move, and dont me started on the comments people give me when he does this!

This is really getting me down as I feel I cant take him anywhere as he will play up, he has GDD with bad speech delay and his receptive language is also really behind, so doesnt understand a lot either.

Is this normal toddler behavior (he's 3) or part of him having GDD, will this get better?!

hi anon, sorry you are having a tough time. DD (3.9) with s&l delay and probably asd (yet undiagnosed) was certainly much more difficult in the 3's than in the 2's. we are approaching the 4's now and things do get a little bit easier (though still tough).

I know the stares and comments from people and I grew a thick skin very quickly.

shopping etc is still a nightmare. DP does the shopping in the evenings (and raiding the discount sections at the same time Grin ) so we don't have to take DD to the shops. but going somewhere with DD1 and DD2 (baby) on my own is a really difficult and I only go to places with extra adult support.

I just need to know its gets easier! I also have a DD (4 weeks) and I feel completely trapped in the house, even going to peoples houses is a nightmare as he screams a lot and just cannot sit still!
