Our DD will be 3 in December and she has verbal dyspraxia. She goes to a very nice MS nursery for 3 hours a day, and teachers say that she joins in really well and has a couple of kids she plays with, although English is not her first language.
However, I feel that when I pick her up, other kids do not include her in their plays, and she often plays by herself really. Plus I saw that other kids get invitations to the playdates- we never got one. Other mums seem to be nice but I have a feeling they are trying to avoid us?
Am I being paranoid? Shall I approach other mums and gently explain that although my child can sometimes express herself by yelling and pointing instead of talking, her intellect is absolutely fine and on par with her peers? Should I try to befriend mums and then the kids' friendships will follow or shall I just stop being overprotective and let my DD sort it out by herself? My heart breaks when I see that my child approaches that really well-spoken girl from her class and wants to play with her only to hear that girl yell "noooo," at her.
