If it is same as Risperidone then yes. My ds aged 10 has it to calm his anxiety and aggression. i know some posters have found it helpful and others less so. In my case, it has really made a massive positive difference to my ds. He is much calmer, less anxious and hardly ever lashes out. He has been on it now for about 18 months. before this he was becoming very difficult to deal with and was also a virtual recluse, refusing to go out of the house except for school. He has to have regular follow up and check ups every six months or so. It has also caused some weight gain, but overall I think it has been good.

My son tried it but it flattened him....not tired so much as "flat" and disinterested in everything. Also gave him nasty muscle spasm/pain.

Everyone's different though.

Am on the previous thread, so won't go through it again..
Re: leaving children "flat", our paed said he would not expect that to happen to any of his patients as he would expect to get the dose right. We were encouraged to keep in touch with him and discuss any concerns until he was satisfied it was the optimum dose for DS.

I think really, it worked. It took a good deal of his anxiety away. It also seemed to take away his personality and his " oomph". He stopped drawing, playing his Wii and would sit, staring into space saying "I'm not sure what I should be doing". Our cahms psychiatrist started him on a weeny dose and slowly slowly increased it but, as I say, FOR HIM it worked but "flattened" his personality.
