for those who don't know, my son has been out of school for over a year. He's nearly 11 and primarily down syndrome. Has always been special school as too severe for mainstream. He has specific problems about why he can't go to school which his school won't accept. Anyway we have been down the route of re assessing his statement. I haven't got the draft but have been informed his old school is the named school. From the LEA pov his old school is the only one suitable in the borough..........
However if I chose a school other than the one named, regardless of cost or borough, if the school accept him he can go!!
Next hard step is finding a school..................then getting him there!!!!
