Help with STATEMENT to include ABA provision in mainstream

My son is due to start school next Sept. He has ASD, we have been running an ABA/VB program at home which we have funded.

We requested An assessment for a statement in readiness for school. We have received a proposed Statement. We want to change part 3 to clearly state that he needs input from SALT & OT, also that we want 1 to 1 support full time by a person trained in ABA or someone from our home program. We want this fully funded.

Would be very grateful if anyone can give some advice on wording to use.

Thanks Jo

The request is to actully get an educational pshycologist to see him with regards to getting a statement...my son starts school in sept 2012 and has ASD.

JP< what is your present situation?
Do you have a self funded programme running?
Have you data on its success (or otherwise)?

Hi I really want to get ABA for my son. He's at special school at moment but want hi nice him to mainstream. Ed psych assessment is clear that he is able but behaviourally very difficult. Unfortunately I only just found out ABA so haven't tried it but no doubt the special school use baby techniques from it. What is best way to get LEA to fund it. I know they gave it to another parent on appeal but she had been doing the programme at home.

All of you would be better coming to the special needs children part of the board as that is where we all hang out generally and there is loads more traffic.
