I'm after a book to read on Aspergers and ASD to understand.

I've found the complete guide to aspergers by tony attwood.

Is it any good?

Any other books anyone would recommend please.

I have read it in chunks. I quite liked it. Try your library they might have it so you can try befrore you buySmile.

I also like "10 things every child with autism wishes you knew", long title but some good ideas in it.

happy book shoppingSmile

Here's a list, plus comments, of some of the books I've read around the subject:

Finding Asperger Syndrome in the Family is a much easier read than Tony Attwood's bokk (but therefore less detailed).
Myfavourite remains "Martian in the Playground" by Clare Sainsbury, which is the first book I read on the topic.
Have you looked on the NAS website?

Another ASD mum and I are always on the hunt for excellent books on the subject. She just ordered another 10 (uh huh) from Amazon and rushed to tell me at school on Friday that she has found an excellent one amongst all the disappointing ones...Autism and Asperger Syndrome (The Facts) by Simon Baron-Cohen
I loved George and Sam by Charlotte Moore

Thank you very much for the suggestions - fantastic list BsDad.

I haven't looked on the NAS website for books. I'm finding that for some reason a hard website to negotiate.

I'm going to start with Tony Attwood's and George and Sam.

BsDad's list is great. I would add multicoloured mayhem by Luke Jackson's mother, and Emergence by Temple Grandin

Another one who recommend Claire Sainbury.
Or anything by Wendy Lawson.

I second recommendation for Temple Grandin, her books are brilliant.
