DS is 4 with ASD & LD - no mobility element of DLA so no automatic Blue Badge. Heard lots of negative stories of people failing to get BB round here for ASD so not bothered to pursue it as we have been managing ok most of the time. DS has had two meltdowns this week which could have been avoided if we could have parked closer to where we needed to go - so today armed with loads of reports we went to the council to apply.
They asked a few questions, looked at the info and handed over the badge. I'm so pleased, it's going to be a huge help!

that's great..also you should definitely try again for mobility when he turns 5..my DD had no mobility until then (ASD LDs and a few things) and got HRM from 5

Great news, and a very similar story to what happened with our 4 yr old, asd, non mobility dla child. Hopefully this will inspire others to apply. Well done.

Well done! :)

I've heard of that recently. My ds would definitely qualify, he has no awareness of danger :c( I was told that he even qualifies for mobility and I didn't know that. so it's good to know. Well done!
