It is wrong to hit people.

I work in a special school with autistic children and have an autistic brother so professionally and privately I would not tolerate one of my students/my brother hitting anyone else.

Obviously the consequence for an autisitic child needs to be different to that for a typical child and maybe that's what needs explaining to the other children.

Is it regarding your child or as a class discussion?
It is wrong to hit. We all know that.

You could try saying yes you are very correct it is wrong to hit. Unfortunately this child hits when he is either frightened or anxious or doesnt understand. And that they are doing a good thing by helping the child by repeating that it is wrong to hit as indeed do you. But it takes some children longer to understand the right from wrong :)

You need to agree, its very wrong to hit. Maybe you could tell them that he doesn't understand why it would hurt them.

Try a social story, normally works with my two
