Posting this here... as you are all familiar to my scatty ways...nothing to do with special needs...but hey! Could put a smile on your faces!
I was wading through the muddles that my 3 boys had created at had my arms full of goodness knows what- i noticed a trainer and rather than risk bending down and picking it up - i thoght i'd kick it...i wasn't going to risk dropping everything else!
However i somehow managed to bend my toes right under my foot and i heard a CRACK... i've know got bruising and swelling affecting every toe except my big toe...for which i am grateful...as i believe that is the one you balance with!!! AND I HAVE BROKEN MY LITTLE TOE!!! (never liked that toe anyway)

Now for the funny bit.... as here is nothing really that casualty can do other than strap it to another toe...i have been 'managing' on my own- however....i feel like a stork as i am constantly balancing on one leg as soon as one of my boys are anywhere near me...incase they stand on it!! I reckon by the end of the week i will BEG the hospital to stick a plaster cast on it....just so i can have both feet firmly on the ground!!

LOL at the image of the stork! I bet your boys find it amusing! Sorry about the toes though. Is it just me or has there been a lot of MN toe-breaking lately? Hope they get better soon!

LOU33- are your toes in a plaster cast kind of thing? I've just put some tubigrip on today...but wonder whether i should 'get it looked at'!!

I didn't bother to go to hospital in the end. They will just tape the broken one to it's neighbour, and I have all that stuff in the house. Definitely broken tho,and not just bruised. I did them on Saturday night, and the bruising is just starting to diminish now, they are green and purple rather than black. Am praying for a miracle that I can dance on them by next weekend, because I am going out to let my hair down in big way , and can only do that in heels .

Get it looked at if it appears to be misaligned though.

mrsforgetful · 30/10/2003 22:01

No...still the silly old shape it was B4....could have done with it 'misaligning' into a better shape!!My husband still thinks i have 'duck's feet'...and suggested i see the 'quack'... his 'joke' - not mine! I'm just **ed off now as where i've been hobbling awkwardly since monday the rest of my leg aches...especially my heel...the old story of using muscles that have been lying dormant for years!

Yes, it might affect other bits of you as you compensate for the broken one. Sorry to hear about it (both of you) but glad you managed to laugh about it
